Om Ramdas Shaked

I was born and raised in Israel. During one of my visits to India in 2014, I met the Swedish mother of my daughter, Lila, who was born in Sweden in 2016. Since then, I live in Sweden, enjoying, experiencing, and escorting Lilas development, as a proud father who strives and prays for her happiness.

In my twenties I achieved two academic degrees: one as a Bachelor of Business, second as a high school teacher in economy. After my academic studies in 1999, I visited India for about a year for the first time.

From the first moment I felt deep connection to India. To the colors, smells, and tastes of it, to the beautiful places in it, to the amazing ancient culture of it, to the wonderful yoga and meditation, to its deep Vedanta philosophy and the hidden secrets which it contains.

With returning to Israel, I started a successful career as a stock market analyst at a big company in Tel Aviv. After few years, though everything seemed good from the outside, a deep sense of unbalance and emptiness began to emerge. I decided to give myself a real opportunity to seek for answers at the fundamental level to questions that troubled me. The second visit to India felt like returning home. That was in 1999, and a spiritual journey started. Since then, I have spent 10 years all together in India.

During this time, I studied close to my teachers. At the same time, I teached classes of private, groups or workshops of yoga, meditation, and conscious breath work. In addition, I held classes and lectures on Vedanta philosophy, Indian mythology, culture, and its ancient books. I also give recommendations on trips and special places to visit in India.

"Yoga develops an awareness, that bridges the gap between reality as we critisize, to reality as it is"

I pay my respect to my honorable teachers Sri Guru Prayag Puri in Varanasi, Sri Guru Ram Atma Das in Rishikesh, and Sri Guru Adityananda Giri in Vrindvan. I had the privilege to sit by their side at their ashrams, and got the chance to deepen my yoga, meditation and Vedanta knowledge, which is the philosophy of the self, from them. My teachers who taught me that it is a great privilege to become a seeker. I pay my honorable respect to all the great yogis from time and beyond, that shared the wonderful knowledge of yoga and Vedanta.
